In my last blog, part I of the Techniques for estimation of Significant years without Dasa and Transits, I had discussed two important rules for finding out the significant years of one's life. In this part three more such rules are being discussed. In rule 1 and rule 2 (discussed in last blog), importance was given to Moon's Navamsha placement and the corresponding years equal to count of Navamsha placement of various planets from Moon's Navamsha placement and vice versa were found out. The rules being discussed in this article emphasis on Navamsha placement of Ascendant (Lagna).
Rule 1 and 2 were discussed in part I of the blog.
Rule 3: Count the number of Navamshas from Navamsha placements of planets like Saturn, Mars or Rahu up to Navamsha placement of the Ascendant. A significant event is likely to take place in the age corresponding to this count.
Rule 4: Count the number of Navamshas from Navamsha placement of the Ascendant up to Navamsha placement of the planets like Saturn, Mars or Rahu. A significant event is likely to take place in the age corresponding to this count.
Rule 5: Count the number of Navamshas from first Navamsha of Aries (Ashwini Navamsha), i.e. the Navamsha count of the planet under consideration from the table given in the last blog. A significant event is likely to take place in the age corresponding to this count.
In the above rules, all the nine planets and the ascendant may be used. Events will be good if Navamsha placements are counted from/ to benefic planets like Jupiter, Venus or Mercury, or functional benefics and are bad if Navamsha placements are counted from/ to malefic planets like Saturn, Mars, Rahu, Ketu or Sun, or functional malefics.
For finding out this count of Navamsha placements, take the following steps:
(1) Find the Navamsha numbers of the planet under consideration including the ascendant from the table given in my last blog (part I) using their longitudes.
(2) For Rule 3, Count = Navamsha No. of the Ascendant - Navamsha No. of the Planet + 1. If Count is a negative number, add 108 to the result.
For Rule 4, Count = Navamsha No. of the Planet - Navamsha No. of the Ascendant + 1. If Count is a negative number, add 108 to the result.
For Rule 5, Count = Navamsha No. of the Planet.
(3) The age of the native corresponding to this number (Count) will be an eventful year.
To illustrate the above rules, let us discuss the birth chart of Walt Disney.
Step 1: Finding the Navamsha No.
Longitude of Ascendant (Lagna) = 05R03D10M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 46
Longitude of Sun = 07R19D58M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 69
Longitude of Moon = 05R16D41M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 51
Longitude of Mars = 08R15D58M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 77
Longitude of Mercury = 07R04D57M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 65
Longitude of Venus = 09R07D13M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 84
Longitude of Rahu = 06R20D50M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 61
Longitude of Ketu = 00R20D50M; Navamsha No. (from the table) = 7
Step 2:
Applying Rule 3;
(a) Count of Ketu Navamsha to Ascendant Navamsha = 46 - 7 + 1 = 40
40th year of his age will be from Dec. 1940 to Dec. 1941: In 1941, (i) Disney Studios releases Dumbo, which is a modest commercial success. (ii) The animators at the studio strike and unionize. (iii) Walt goes on a goodwill tour in South America. (iv) The United States enters World War II; the U.S. Army requisitions half of Disney Studios to house troops assigned to protecting a nearby Lockheed plant. (v) Walt’s father, Elias, dies.
Applying Rule 4;
(b) Count of Ascendant Navamsha to Rahu Navamsha = 61 - 46 + 1 = 16
16th year of his age will be from Dec. 1916 to Dec. 1917 - Walt Disney's family moves to Chicago, where Walt draws pictures for the McKinley High School newspaper and attends evening classes at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Walt hopes to become a newspaper cartoonist.
(c) Count of Ascendant Navamsha to Sun Navamsha = 69 - 46 + 1 = 24
24th year of his age will be from Dec. 1924 to Dec. 1925 - Walt and Lillion got married.
(d) Count of Ascendant Navamsha to Mars Navamsha = 77 - 46 + 1 = 32
32nd year of his age will be from Dec. 1932 to Dec. 1933 - In 1933, (i) Three Little Pigs, the 36th “Silly Symphony,” is distributed, with the original song, “Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?” The song becomes a national hit and an anthem for the Great Depression. (ii) Lillian Disney gives birth to Diane Disney.
(e) Count of Ascendant Navamsha to Venus Navamsha = 84 - 46 + 1 = 39
39th year of his age will be from Dec. 1939 to Dec. 1940 - Disney releases Pinocchio and Fantasia. Fantasia is released with a new technology, Fantasound, which precedes stereo and surround sound by 20 years. Neither film is commercially successful, and Walt Disney Studios issues 600,000 shares of common stock at $5.00 per share.
Applying Rule 5;
(f) Count of Ascendant Navamsha from 1st Navamsha = 46
46th year of his age will be from Dec. 1946 to Dec. 1947 - (i) James Baskett, who played Uncle Remus in Song of the South, wins an honorary Academy Award. (ii) Walt testifies before the House Un-American Activities Committee on the role of communist agitation in the 1941 animators strike at the Studio.
(g) Count of Mercury Navamsha from 1st Navamsha = 65
65th year of his age will be from Dec. 1965 to Dec. 1966 - Walt Disney dies.
